We did the weekly errands together again yesterday. I don’t know if this will be an every-week kind of thing or not. Yesterday we made a stop at the Goodrich’s to return their dishes (they were the only ones who brought over a meal for us shortly after Adam was born) and I wanted to go along for that. Incidentally, Adam’s almost as big as Kari, the Goodrich’s 4-month-old daughter.

I’ve been working on a table runner for us. I decided a small project would help ease me back into sewing. It’s taking me a lot longer than it should, but that’s ok; it’s nice to be working on something “sew-y” again.

I’m going to Bellingham in a couple of weeks. La Leche League is having a conference there, and Adam and I are going to attend. It should be fun. I wish Mike could go, too, but he’ll be staying home to take care of animals.

Socializing Baby

It’s been a busy week for Adam and me. Tuesday, we went into town with Mike to run the errands. Everyone talked about how cute Adam was (of course; who’s ever told someone, “Gee, that sure is an ugly kid ya got there!”) and asked how I was feeling. Wednesday, Adam and I went to the quilt guild meeting. After nursing a couple of times, Adam was feeling sufficiently sociable and allowed several of the gals to hold him. He even put on a performance, smiling and grinning and cooing at some of them, disrupting the meeting because he had a whole corner of the guild in hysterical laughing fits. Oh, yes, he’s learning to smile. Quite cute, when you can catch it. So far, Dad still hasn’t gotten a picture of it.

Thursday and Friday we stayed home and rested. Today, we made a trip (just the two of us) all the way to Moscow.. Idaho.. to take advantage of the sale at Joann’s, then to pick up a few necessities at Wal-Mart. All in all, it was ...

Errands With Baby

Last night we went on a little excursion. Mike, Adam and I all piled into the truck and headed for Moscow. First, of course, we had to adjust the carseat, because our little Peanut has grown too tall (long) for the setting we had it on. We went to the Wal-Mart and bought a few things, including a new lamp for night feedings and some shelving for a belated birthday present for Mike. After we left, we dropped back into Pullman and swung by the McDonald’s for some dinner for me (drive-thru, yum.. not) then went to the La Leche League meeting up the street. It was lots of fun. It was a couples’ meeting, and we got to show Adam to everyone there. He was quiet through most of it, but woke up about midway to soil 4 diapers and nurse 3 times. It was my first (semi-)public nursing. I talked to two of the other moms after the meeting, and we’re going to form a playgroup! I’m really excited about that. Three Weeks Old

My sweet little angel baby is three weeks old today. It’s hard to imagine that. He’s already grown and changed so much in that short a time. Physically, he’s not near as puffy and squinty and.. “pulled in” to himself as he was the first few days. He’s put on lots of weight (an informal scale test shows between 11 and 12 pounds now) and has grown at least an inch and a half in length. His hair has lightened, his eyes darkened. He’s lost the little brown love spots he had on his thighs when he was born (some call them stork bites) and he’s got a tiny little case of baby acne.

But wow, in ways OTHER than physical!! He can roll from his back to his right side, he can track movements of people and things from one side to the other, he turns when he hears voices or sharp noises, he can grab beards, hair, and cat tails, he stretches out at night, taking up as much bed space as his little wingspan will al...
