Today I turned 35 years old. I love celebrating birthdays – I’m as bad as the kids. I took the whole weekend off from work and scrapbooked and relaxed. The kids, Mike, my in-laws, and a friend got me some really thoughtful gifts, and I was showered all day long with congratulatory messages on Facebook, Twitter, email, and text.
I am so blessed.
So, obviously, the blog is back on. I’ve been wanting to redesign this entire site (2frogs.net) for quite some time, so here it is. Things will probably change and grow quite a lot over time, so if you’re into it, check back often. Pulling over the old blog archives is going to take a looong time. Before 2006 I just had all of my blog entries in flat HTML pages. Getting them into a database is a long, tedious, boring process. I’ve been blogging over ten years now, and that’s a lot of entries to input. I’m in no great, tearing hurry, though; it’ll happen as time allows.
I’m also planning to upload pictures of the family, my scrapbook pages, and other things that tickle my fancy. Once I get ImageMagick installed (I hate you, non-standardized open source install protocols), it should be a breeze to create galleries of all kinds of photos and add tags to them, so that everything from blog entries to photos to the kids’ family pages cross-references nicely.
The old content is still available for the time being at http://2frogs.larkstage.com. The plan is to eventually blow that away, once I’ve imported everything over here.
I’m going to go hit the hay now, since I really need to buckle down and get a lot of work done tomorrow. Gnight, world!
