Pregnancy Quotes and Advice This baby has heaps of aunties. I'm "webmom" to a quilting mailing list and lots of the ladies on that list are claiming Adam as their nephew. Isn't that wonderful? Boy, this kid sure is lucky, and will be well-loved. I also occasionally get advice from absolute strangers, and thought I'd share that with you, too. 8/6/00 - Aunty Judy - "Adam, stop clutching mom's kidneys and come on out, already! Because Auntie Jude said so, that's why." 5/15/00 - Aunty Judy - "And don't think a little thing like not being related is going to slow me down, either, I can still be a fat little Yenta to Adam!" 3/27/00 - Aunty Judy - "Another thing from the dark ages known as the 50's. Not only did the cloth diapers get washed in Ivory flakes, but moms as a general rule really belived in "air baths", i.e.,lay out a quilt on the lawn, put that baby's naked butt (along with the rest of him, of course) on the quilt and let the dappled shade and spring sunshine and cool breezes do their magic. Every warm day the naked babies showed up on lawns like mushrooms after a rain. I took my first utility quilt to a church picnic one June in North Carolina, to show it off and to have an uncrowded place to sit. I went and got my plate, and when I got back to the quilt it had a half dozen naked babies having their naps on it. what could I say? We all pulled up chairs and admired how smart we all were to make such lovely babies. BTW, the mommies did fold up a clean diaper under their babies, with varying degrees of success. The little girls were nice about it, but we were treated to a fountain or two from the boys. The quilt was washable, so who cared?
