A red-white-and-blue flannel sampler quilt that I made for auction for the Red Cross, shortly after the attacks on September 11th. 09/01

A red-white-and-blue rail fence I made, also to auction for the Red Cross. 09/01

This was an Ohio Star quilt I made in honor of the anniversary of two of our dearest friends - Di and Shel. 04/00

stained_glass_daffodil.jpg (157136 bytes)

This was my first-ever stained glass project. I entered it into the St. John Stock Show and Fair, and won a purple best of class ribbon on it! 04/00

A paper-pieced birds of paradise wall-hanging I made for Mike's parents. 12/99

baskats.jpg (111062 bytes)

These are some paper-pieced kitties I made for our friend Jodi for her birthday. 11/99

I made this log cabin wreath at Quilt Camp. 10/99

birdhouse.jpg (95277 bytes)

This is the birdhouse I made for the quilt show in Spokane. 09/99

momanddana.jpg (125985 bytes)

This is me and Mike's mom. She was making her first-ever quilt. In the background are a couple of quilts I've made. 09/99

jackolanterns.jpg (144068 bytes)

This is a Halloween quilt I made, with 6 jack-o-lanterns (3 happy, 3 bad), plus sashing & borders. 10/99

birdlover.jpg (125638 bytes)

This is a bunch of paper-pieced blocks I made from a magazine pattern and put together in a quilt I called "Bird Lover". I put it in the fair and got a blue ribbon, then sent it to my mom, along with the ribbon, for her birthday. 09/99

melaniesfrog.jpg (147995 bytes)

This little paper-pieced frog was made for a gal at our publisher, the Acquisitions Editor, Melanie Spiller. She's a frog-o-phile. 09/99

paperpiecedtrees.jpg (136504 bytes)

This is a little thing I made from the book Mike gave me about garden-inspired paper-pieced patterns. I played with some of the decorative stitches on my machine in the borders. It now hangs proudly in the bathroom, right next to the toilet! :) 09/99

irishautumn.jpg (128744 bytes)

This is a double Irish chain pattern (the yellow and orange squares make the chains) with applique'ed leaves. It's a fall theme so I called it Irish Autumn. 09/99

buzzsaws.jpg (137740 bytes)

I made this in my first class. The class was called "Mini-Mysteries", so you don't know what you're going to end up with until it's all over. These are called buzzsaws. The colored parts make little spinning buzzsaw blades, and so do the white pieces between them. 08/99

pinwheelswithsashing.jpg (69787 bytes)

The quilt guild issued a challenge - you had to make a quilt using the dark green you see here. I'm not going to enter this one - my points are all over the place, but it was a good learning experience... I call it my humble quilt. 08/99

paperpiecedtulip.jpg (49864 bytes)

I made these tulips using a method I learned in a class called paper-piecing. It's basically like quilt-by-number, but it's a lot harder than it sounds. 08/99
